Disability Policy Conference

Each year fellows are strongly encouraged and supported to attend a national policy conference in Washington, D.C.  This three-day conference provides the trainees with up-to-date policy considerations on the national political arena, and concludes with visits to Capital Hill with legislators.

Fellows in the past have commented that this is a highlight event of the year giving fellow the opportunity to see how the legislative process works, how policy advocacy is carried out, and allows fellow the opportunity to meet their elected representatives and their aides.  This is also a great time for fellows to get to know each other better and to meet LEND fellows from around the country.

This conference is sponsored by:

  • The ARC of the United States
  • American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
  • Association of University Centers of Disabilities
  • United Cerebral Palsy
  • National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities
